Overall I don't like EU4 mechanics' that much IMO, and I think EU4 is probably the most unrealistic of Paradox's titles. If you put it into Victoria 2's terms, it'd mean that you can almost instantly make your province's population and production grow by 2-3 times just by clicking in a button. Especially during the late game, with many stacked modifiers, this lets you easily multiply your provinces' development by 3 o 4 times, which is totally ridiculous IMO. Still, those 50 years could be reduced to half or less if you have a permanent claim.Īnother thing that I don't like at all from EU4 is the way you can easily trade mana for development. If you had to wait 50 years until you could make a province a core you'd think it twice before blobbing. I think the EU3 system is much better, instantly (or almost instantly) coring something makes blobbing way too easy and without enough consequences. And I think some of EU3 mechanics were better: for example, coring in EU4 takes mana, while in EU3 the only way to get cores was to control a province for 50 years.
